Monday morning and feeling good

Morning all

I made a couple of things yesterday although I didn't get around to the bag I was going to make got side tracked and here are the goodies that made instead

Burp Cloth for a friend of my daughters who is having a baby girl in July
have made a couple of these in different fabrics with the pink fleece backing to make it all soft.

I bought some bibs a couple of years ago when I bought my first ever embroidery machine from Create and Craft Brother 90E but never did anything with them as I could not get on with the machine so I traded it in just before Christmas and bought a Janome Memory Craft 400E which I just love this is one of the bibs I have made for when our new great grandson arrives in July.

My next make is a book cover which I have had for ages was going to applique some images onto it but then decided to embroider it as I thought it looked better.  This is to store all my makes in and to record what fabrics and stitches used and of course the date that it was made and how long it took.

Am off now to do some baking

Ball Gown

Hi

Hope everybody is keeping warm and well.  We are having a lazy day today, although I am going to make a bag with a pattern I bought at the Craft 4 Crafters exhibition at West Point Exeter a couple of weeks ago.     Below is a photo of a dress I made when   hubby was in the Royal Navy and we were attending a summer ball.  This dress is boned and the fabric is Taffeta I really enjoyed making this dress.  It was my really first big challenge of making my own dress as I had up to that point only ever made clothes for the girls when they were little, it took 3 days to make and I am so proud of what I achieved and had lots of comments asking where I had bought it.

I made this little elephant for a friend who had a baby girl last year Sophie drags it everywhere with her and takes him to bed at night.

Below is a photo of my darling great granddaughter Darcy Rose who is now 1 years old
She is the delight of my life

This is my first attempt at a quilt that is larger than a cot quilt the actual size is for a king size single bed which basically the same size as the top of a double bed with no overhang.  I bought the pattern about two/three years ago.  This is for Darcy for when she goes into a single bed, wanted to make sure it was finished for the big day.

I certainly learned a few lessons making this one and the biggest lesson was to use quilt as you go as it was really difficult trying to quilt this on the sewing machine, I hand stitched the applique onto the quilt and made my own binding to go around the quilt.

this little cutie pie is my desk buddy he sits on my desk in my craft room next to the computer.

Bye for now

Welcome

Hi

It is cold and windy here on the moors but I am all tucked up in my craft room which is a small outhouse which is attached to the back of our bungalow, it is full with all things crafty.

The aim of my blog is to showcase work I have completed and any challenges I can find on sewing blogs.

My first pictures are of a few things I have made over the last decade or so.

This is my daughter's sofa which I recycled for her
by making fresh covers

Small child's Apron

This was a blanked I made for our Great Granddaughter for her cot

I made this quilt last year for our Great Granddaughter to put on the floor for her to play on

Patchwork Cushion for our youngest daughter's bedroom

Made this bag for a friend who could not find one to match her outfit

this bag was made for going on holiday to hold our phones etc in whilst by the pool

This was one for the first ever patchwork bags I had ever made it came out really well

Well that's it for today have a few things I want to finish off before I upload them onto the blog.

Happy Sewing
